A useful definition of sustainable development is “Making good decisions which safeguard tomorrow”, however the textbook definition of sustainable development used by organizations and companies around the world comes from the United Nations Brundtland Report: “Development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.Proses Company is quite unique in that we also directly impact the sustainability performance of our customers. What we do at work there also benefits the environment, society and the economy. This means that commitments we make in our personal lives can be mirrored at work, both in the office or at the plant, and also with our customers. That’s how to build a sustainable future.

Whatever your job is in your company, you have a role to play in sustainability !   All of us should think about the resources we consume, the waste and emissions we create, and the money we spend on behalf of Proses Company, and be creative about how to do all three in ways which lower their impact on the environment, on our workplace and surrounding communities, and on our costs. This can be as simple as ensuring that we turn off lights when not needed; putting waste paper in a recycle bin; or using a drinking glass and not disposable cups. It can also be as broad as forming a local sustainability group, mobilizing the commitment and creativity of colleagues, or occupants of buildings Proses  Company shares with others.
